English actress best known for playing Mary on BBC show Sherlock and Miss Mardle on Mr Selfridge. In a Times interview it mentioned “she had a hard time being bullied at primary school, mainly because she was short – although she would grow to a respectable 5ft 4in, just 2 1/2 in shorter than Freeman.” When on Twitter, she once said she stood “5ft 5in” and on another occasion was quite precise, saying “I’m 5ft 4 and a half inches”.
